Step 1: Prepare your product
Create the product you want to use for the Draw, and set its status to "Draft".
Click here to see all product setup requirements prior to create a launch.
Step 2: Create launch
Configure essential details for your launch:
- Launch name: Add an internal name for your launch. This won’t be visible to customers.
- Select the product you want to launch. EQL Draw supports a maximum inventory allocation of 500 units per launch. Be mindful of this limit when selecting your product and planning inventory.
- Launch timeline: Set the open and close date/time. Times are based on your store’s timezone — double-check for accuracy.
- (Optional) Enable Notify Me: Take customer signups on the launch page prior to the Draw open time. EQL automatically sends email notifications to signed-up customers when the launch opens.
- (Optional) Enable Multi-Quantity: Allow each customer to enter for multiple units. Allocation is based on available inventory, and successful entries receive their selected quantity.
- Note: Multi-Quantity can't be edited once the launch opens.
- Template selection: Choose a product template that includes the EQL Draw app block. Only compatible templates will appear here.
-
Fees: Use the slider to decide how fees are split — pass them on to customers or cover them yourself.
Click “Create.”
When your launch is created, EQL will:
- Restrict the product so it can only be purchased through the Draw (not via normal sales channels).
- Automatically apply the selected template, replacing the standard Buy button with the “Enter for a chance to purchase” Draw experience.
-
These settings can only be reverted once the launch is marked as completed or cancelled.
🚨Important!
While a product is part of an active Draw, the following checkboxes will be ticked by EQL Launches app:
- Continue selling when out of stock.
- Only sell this product as a subscription.
Please do not disable this setting during the launch, as it may interfere with the launch. Once the launch is completed or cancelled, EQL will automatically revert this setting for you.
Step 3: Manage the launch
- Click on “View page” on the Launch details page to navigate to the product page.
- Note: If your product is not published, please publish it to your Online store.
- Share the launch with your customers.
- Optional: Configure winner controls from the Launch details page by selecting from your Shopify customer segments. These controls let you manage how winners are selected. Learn more about winner controls.
If Notify Me is enabled:
- Customers will be able to sign up for notifications on the PDP.
- On the Launch details page, you can track the total number of signups and edit the reminder email by clicking "Edit Notify Me email" in the upper right hand corner of the Notify Me section.
- EQL will automatically send notification emails when the launch opens.
- Once the launch opens, you'll also see the conversion rate (% of Notify Me signups who entered the Draw)
Editing the launch timeline
You can edit the launch timeline depending on its status:
-
Before the launch opens:
You can edit both the Open and End date/time.
-
After the launch opens:
Only the End date/time can be changed.
-
After the launch closes (but before processing):
You can extend the End date/time (e.g. to reopen the launch).
-
After processing has started:
The launch schedule is now locked — neither Open nor End times can be edited.
Step 4: Process launch
- Once launch closes, the launch status will change to “Ready to process”.
- Click on “Process launch” to begin.
- Confirm the amount of available units to sell in your launch. This number is editable in your launch product inventory settings. EQL will sell to the amount of available units.
- Review any winner controls you've configured.
- Tick the two confirmation checkboxes to verify your inventory and launch details.
- Click “Approve and process”.
💡 Processing time: Depending on the number of entries and available inventory, this step may take anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours.
Step 5: Mark launch as completed
- Once processing is complete, return to the Launch Details page and click "Mark as completed." This will return your product to its normal state:
- Any remaining inventory will be available for general sale.
- The product will automatically revert to its standard template, with the default Buy button restored.
⚠️ You must complete this step to make the product available for regular purchasing after the launch ends.
