EQL lets you manage how winners are selected for each Draw launch, giving you control over your audience. This feature leverages your unique insights into your customer base.
đĄ Winner controls apply to the selection of customers during launch processing, they do not impact your customersâ experience of entering the launch. All of your customers will go through the same launch entry flowâthey won't be told that they're on a list, or that they're a local.
Setting up winner controls
Note: The following steps outline how to set up VIP and Blocklists. For instructions for how to configure Locals First, go to Setting up Locals First
- Build your lists on your Draw launch details page, by selecting from your Shopify customer segments.
- Note: Shopify customer segments are dynamic by default, updating automatically based on the conditions you've set. If you prefer your list to be a fixed group of customers, you can:
- Create a new tag (eg. 'EQL Blocklist') and manually apply it to customers in bulk. Then create a new segment where <customer_tags> contains the new tag (eg. 'EQL Blocklist').
- Create new customer segments using CSV (refer to Shopify's instructions for how to import customers using CSV).
- Note: Shopify customer segments are dynamic by default, updating automatically based on the conditions you've set. If you prefer your list to be a fixed group of customers, you can:
- Create/edit your lists anytime before launch processing.
- While the launch is open, you can track unit demand by audience in the Demand insights table.
- When you're ready to process the launch, review your lists on the Launch processing page, keeping in mind that Shopify customer segments are dynamic by default and may have changed since you first selected them.
â ď¸ If you select dynamic segments based on purchasing behavior, be aware that a Draw entry ($0 auth) constitutes a purchase. For example, if you select the "Customers who haven't purchased" dynamic segment for your Block list, a customer who was previously part of that segment will be removed after entering the Drawâgiving them a chance of winning.
- Once the launch begins processing, EQL checks for entries from customers on your lists and applies the relevant winner selection rules.
- Note: The EQL Block list feature does not currently integrate with block/blacklisting Shopify apps.
- After the launch has been processed, view your sales and final unit demand by audience and variant (if applicable).
