Run Fair® Fee
What is the Run Fair® Fee?
The Run Fair® Fee may be applied to customers who are selected to purchase products in Draws to help retailers and customers make the most of launches. This fee is calculated as a percentage of applicable Total Purchase Amount.
When customers enter Draws, they will see Run Fair® Fee as a line item in their cart. If they are selected or otherwise complete their purchase, they will be charged the full Total Purchase Amount plus the Run Fair® Fee. If a selected user is an EQL+ member, the Run Fair® Fee may be waived at EQL's discretion. In this case, the customer will not see the Run Fair® Fee line item during checkout.
How does Run Fair® Fee work with my usage-based charges?
Customers pay the Run Fair® Fee directly to you at checkout, along with the full product price. At the end of your monthly billing cycle, Shopify will transfer EQL's usage-based fees to EQL for that month. This includes your Retailer Fees and any Run Fair® Fees paid by consumers.
Shopify’s payment infrastructure is built around the point of transaction between a store and customer. This means we cannot charge customers directly, even though this is our standard practice on other platforms.
You can choose how the charges are split — e.g. you pay a minimum of 1% but can choose to pass on all or some of the remaining 3% to the customer.
