Create an Exclusive access launch
- Navigate to the Exclusive access tab on your EQL Launches app.
- Click "Create launch."
- Fill in Launch name. This is internal only and will not be displayed to your customers.
- Select an existing product in your store.
💡 Tip: To maintain exclusivity and security, we recommend not publishing the product to your Online Store, Shop, or any public sales channels during the launch. This ensures that only invited customers can make a purchase.
- Click "Create."
- Note: If you haven't completed the one-time setup to create a landing page for your Exclusive access launches, you'll be prompted to do so. How to complete one-time setup for Exclusive access launches →
- You can preview your offer landing page by clicking "Edit" on the Offer page card in the right panel, set the page to <Visible>, and preview the page. You can set it back to <Hidden> after you have previewed it.
- Note: To create a new offer page for this launch, navigate to your Theme Editor and create a new offer page template. Once you've customized the new offer page, return to the Launch details page, edit your Offer page and select your newly created template.
Invite customers to enter
- Select a Shopify customer segment or upload a CSV file.
- Review the number of customers to be added. EQL skips duplicated and invalid emails.
- You can customize the invite email by clicking "Edit invite email" in the top right corner of the "Invitations" section. Choose a template from the Template dropdown, then edit the copy as needed.
- Review the total number of invitees to available inventory in the Invites summary table.
💡 You can assign specific product variants to particular invitees, so that they can only purchase the variant you've selected. To do so, upload a CSV file with their email addresses and variants. We recommend sending invites to customers in this file before adding more customers to the launch.
-
Click "Send invites," or add more segments and/or CSV files to your invite list.
Managing an open launch
Once you send invites, customers will start receiving invite emails with a unique code sent by EQL on your behalf. If previously hidden, your offer page will be made visible so that customers can view and claim their offers.
- View claimed offers by navigating to Orders in your Shopify Admin and filtering orders tagged with EQL Exclusive Access and your Launch ID.
- How to find your Launch ID
- Open the EQL Launches app, click on your launch to view the Launch Details page.
- Look at the URL in your browser—your Launch ID is the series of numbers and letters at the end of the URL.
If the product or assigned variant sells out while a customer is claiming their offer, they’ll see an out-of-stock message immediately after entering their unique invite code on the offer page.
Adding more invitees to an open launch
You can continue adding customers and sending invites while the launch is open. EQL will automatically skip any customers who have already been invited.
To add more invitees:
Go to the Launch details page and click "Add customers."
Select from your customer segments, or upload a new CSV file.
Review the invites summary. EQL will skip any duplicate and invalid emails.
Review the updated invitee count.
Click "Send invites."
Adding invitees who were recently added to customer segments you've already used
Since Shopify customer segments are dynamic, you may find that a customer segment you’ve already sent invites to has since updated. To send invites to newly added customers, upload a CSV with their email addresses (see Shopify's instructions for how to import customers via CSV) or create a new customer segment and add it to your invite list. EQL does not update customer segments once you have selected and sent invites to them.
Ending the launch
You can end the launch at any time by going to the Launch Details page and clicking “Mark as completed” in the top right corner.
Once a launch is marked as completed:
- All unclaimed access codes will be invalidated.
- Customers will no longer be able to place orders through the launch.
⚠️ If you don’t mark the launch as completed, the offer will remain active — allowing invited customers to purchase for as long as inventory is available.
If a customer clicks their unique offer link but doesn’t complete checkout, their order will appear as Open under Draft Orders in Shopify. These Open orders will be automatically deleted after the launch is marked as completed, if payment hasn’t been received.
Unless set to hidden the offer page will continue to remain visible after marked as completed and if all units are sold out the Sold Out message will display. You’ll have the option in the “Hide sold out message” to toggle this message off and show a “Launch has now closed” message instead.
To review sales performance, go to EQL Launches → Launch Details where you can track:
- Total number of invites sent
- Units sold
- Conversion rate (from invites to purchases)
